A little girl & her her dog

This is a true life incidance of a little girl & her dog,Simba,a German Shepherd.
The little girl & her family lived on a farm, in India. The grandpa would drop off the girl to the nearest State Transport bus route. The bus would take her to the small town where her school was located.
Every morning, ever since Simba was two months old, he would wait for the girl to come out in her uniform & would rush & jump along with her in the car.If the kid was in plain clothes,he never bothered! The trio would then drive down to a particular spot, to catch the bus. Grandpa had to be very careful about holding Simba back till the girl boarded the bus.
It was yet another, usual day.The girl got in the bus on her way to school. When she alighted, to her utter surprise, Simba was right there, standing very sheepishly! The onlookers who were regular commuters, watched the scenario with amusement! By then Grabdpa too had driven in.Obviously,Simba had chased the bus for all those 8/9 kilometers on the muddy tracks!Grandpa had to follow! The kid gasped & exclaimed,"Simba!"
Suddenly Simba was guilt free & jumped on those tiny shoulders, front paws firmly planted, licking her face & wagging his tail frantically! The onlookers, who were familiar with the kid & the dog, were deeply moved! Grandpa now needed to take Simba back home but he just won't budge! Finally the girl was made to sit in the car to reassure Simba, that she too was going to be with him. But Simba was too sharp to fall into the trap! He refused to get into the car!!
The girl by now,was getting late for her classes, thus started waliking towards the school.Simba followed her, & believe it or not, sat next to her bench the whole day! The class teacher had to allow!
At this point of time ,Simba was about a year old. The same evening he fell sick, never to recover. But all those three days that he lived & layed miserably on his bedding in the veranda, dot on 7pm.would glue his gaze to the drive way, from where the girl walked in & once he was patted,he would close his eyes & rest.
Third night, the entire family gathered around Simba. All knew that it was just a matter of moments now.The little girl was too grief striken to come out.But Simba kept lifting his head & rolling his eyes,as if looking for someone. The kid was persuaded to come out. She stroked his head & Simba closed his eyes, instantly, forever.
The family had many dogs subsequently, named after Simba but none matched THAT simba. Till date HE is not forgotten. That little girl was no one else but me.
